Patricia Ann Ivey – 1968-18689

On August 7, 1968 at approximately 12:05 p.m., the body of Patricia Ann Ivey, a 28 year old white female, was found lying at the edge of the Cape Fear River by a family who were crabbing in the area of the old Ethel Dow Chemical Company off U.S. Hwy 421 in Kure Beach, NC.  She had been shot.  She had last been seen on or about August 5, 1968.


Ms. Ivey resided at 3020 Adams Street, Wilmington, NC at the time of her death.  She was born in Duplin County and was the mother of seven (7) children.

Julia Alvarez Rodriguez – 1995-31922

In October 28, 1995, Julia Rodriguez was reported missing in Brunswick County. On November 3, 1995, her car was found burned in a wooded area near the railroad tracks off of Blue Clay Rd. in northern New Hanover County. On the day of her disappearance, Julia Rodriguez left her 12 year old daughter at their Leland home to drive to Food Lion to get groceries. She never returned home. The circumstances surrounding her disappearance are being investigated as a homicide.



Barbara Jean Anderson – 1997-22687

Barbara Jean Anderson was found murdered on June 12, 1997 in a wooded area off of River Rd. close to Independence Blvd.; in the area which is now the Riverlights shopping and dining location. Her body was found by fisherman in the area and investigators discovered that she had been strangled to death. Barbara Jean was 37 years old at the time of her death and left behind three children and a grandchild.


Michael Whaley – 1998-07900

Michael Whaley was murdered outside of his home on Lynn Ave. in Castle Hayne on February 25, 1998. Michael Whaley spent the evening grilling out with his family. After dark, he walked out of his home to put the grill away and close the garage when he was shot in his yard. Michael Whaley was 41 years old at the time of his murder and left behind a wife and two children.


Kathleen Cotton – 1999-28499

Kathleen Wood Cotton, a 68 year old woman who lived alone, was murdered in her home at 2500 Middle Sound Loop Road in the Ogden area of Wilmington during the first week of July, 1999.  Ms. Cotton was beaten to death.  Her body was later found in the home by a neighbor who went to check on her.  Her vehicle, a 1992 teal green 2-door Honda Civic was stolen. Her vehicle was recovered approximately six (6) months later in Oklahoma.


Tera Tracy – 1999-43026

Tera Tracy was a murdered in the early morning hours on December 24, 1999 as she worked as a clerk at the Pantry store located at 5800 Castle Hayne Rd. She was brutally beaten and stabbed and left to die. Tera Tracy was 25 years old at the time of her death and was a mother of 4, a wife, and a friend to many.


Michael McIntyre – 2001-06762

On June 28, 2001 a 911 call was received about an unconscious person located on the side of an access road leading to the businesses of Fortron Industries and Kosa Chemicals in the 4600 block N. U.S. HWY 421. The body of Michael McIntyre was located with several gunshot wounds. Michael McIntyre was 23 years old at the time of his death.

Rose-Marie Mallette – 2002-02508

On March 8, 2002, the body of Rose Marie Mallette was located behind MCO Transport, off of HWY U.S. 421 North. Mallette was reported missing on September 15, 2001. Mallette suffered from blunt force trauma to the head. Mallette was 27 years old at the time of her death and left behind numerous family members.


Frank Brown – 2002-07135

Frank Brown was shot and killed in his home on Oakley Rd. in Castle Hayne on July 3, 2002. He was found by his two sons when they arrived home. The person who committed the murder is suspected of stealing Mr. Brown’s truck and abandoning it a few blocks away. Frank Brown was 46 years old at the time of his murder and left behind a son who was 17 years old at the time.

Pamela Bradshaw – 2010-06334

Pamela Bradshaw was last seen September 20, 2001 on Red Cross Street in Wilmington. She was seen talking to someone in a white vehicle that was idling in the middle of the street. She was reported missing with the Wilmington Police Department and has never been heard from again. The investigation revealed information which leads Detectives to believe that Pamela Bradshaw was murdered at a home off of Murrayville Rd. in northern New Hanover County. She was 47 years old at the time of her disappearance and left behind a daughter.

Melquan Hicks-Bey – 2017-08757

On November 5, 2017 at around 10:00 am, the body of Melquan Hicks-Bey was located in a wooded area off of Rockhill Rd. suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.  It was learned that at around 3:00 am on this same date, Melquan Hicks-Bey was abducted during an armed robbery at a home located at 1516 S. 12th St. in Wilmington. Melquan Hicks-Bey was 22 years old at the time of his death and left behind 2 children.
