Castle Hayne Shooting
The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office responded to 2709 Castle Hayne RdMonday evening at 5:42pm for a shooting. Deputies arrived at the mobile home park to find Jennifer Ann Crampton in the front yard of lot 3. She told Deputies that her ex-husband was in the home and he had been shot. EMS arrived and transported Robert Dale Crampton to New Hanover Regional Medical Center in critical condition suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. Jennifer was taken into custody and charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill or inflicting serious bodily injury, and is currently in the New Hanover County Detention Facility under a $1,000,000.00 secure bond.
