The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office responded Friday morning shortly before 10 am to a home invasion located at 2 Misty Lane. Once Deputies arrived on scene and received the suspect information a perimeter was established in the area. Deputies immediately located a vehicle matching the suspects’ description and initiated a traffic stop on a green pickup occupied by four black males. Once the vehicle came to a stop in the 3100 block on Castle Hayne Rd. two males jumped out of the bed of the pickup and ran. The two males who were in the cab of the vehicle were taken into custody. Wrightsboro Elementary school was placed into lockdown status for security.
Deputies quickly adjusted their perimeter to encompass the area that the two black males ran into. At approximately 10:20 am a home owner on Fletcher Ct. called 911 to report a black male in their garage. Deputies quickly surrounded the home and made entry. A third suspect was taken into custody. Mother, Father and two children were not harmed by the suspect. Deputies immediately reengaged their search for the fourth and final suspect. Shortly before 1 pm Deputies utilizing K-9’s tracked the suspect to the 2500 block of Castle Hayne Rd. where a black male who was hiding under a truck ran across Castle Hayne Rd. and Harnett Dr. and was apprehended by Deputies. Upon the arrest of the fourth and final suspect, Wrightsboro Elementary school was released from lockdown and all students were allowed to leave. All suspects are facing multiple felony charges.
