Third Man Arrested for Home Invasion
Today, Jonathan Dale Kiger was arrested on warrants by the U.S. Marshall’s Violent Fugitive Task Force. Kiger is the third person to be arrested for a home invasion from April of 2012. He faces a multitude of charges including kidnapping, robbery with a dangerous weapon, and first degree burglary.
On, April 30, 2012, five people entered an apartment located at 824 Bent Creek Ct. A female knocked on the door of the apartment, when the victim opened the door four men wearing bandanas entered the residence. All of the victims advised that the suspects were wearing bandanas except for the female. The victims stated they were beaten and a gun was put to their heads while the suspects went from room to room taking items from the residence. All the victims advised they were forced to lie on the floor during the entire incident because they were afraid that someone would hurt them if they did not cooperate. A neighbor of the victims noticed the suspects wearing bandanas entering the apartment and called 911. As deputies arrived on scene, a vehicle was noticed leaving the parking lot at a high rate of speed and was followed out of the area. The vehicle was later found a banded and impounded for further processing. The suspects were not located at the time of the incident.
On May 5, 2012 Detectives arrested Owen Hobson Morgan, a 22 year old white male and Kristina Hanne Steenberg, a 21 year old white female for the home invasion. Morgan and Steenberg have been charged with multiple felonies including kidnapping and assault by pointing a gun. Both are in the New Hanover County Detention Facility with secure bonds. Detectives continue their search for the three other suspects involved. If you have any information please contact the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office at 910-798-4161.
