Joint Investigation Produces Large Heroin and Meth Bust
New Hanover County Sheriff’s Narcotics Detectives closed a two month investigation with the arrest of one subject, the seizure of more than 20 ounces of black tar heroin and over 100 grams of methamphetamine. A search warrant was executed at 4120 Castle Hayne Rd during the afternoon hours on Monday October 22, 2012. Detectives located black tar heroin and methamphetamine inside the residence. Nancy Barrientos, a 30 year old Hispanic female was arrested on multiple felony drug charges.
The investigation, which originated back in August, was a joint effort between the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office and the Jacksonville Police Dept. “This is the largest amount of black tar heroin I’ve seen in my career as a narcotics investigator” said Captain David Ciamillo. “Add the seizure of more than 100 grams of methamphetamine and the result is a successful joint investigation that led to the arrest of a major drug trafficker and the seizure of an awful lot of dangerous narcotics” Ciamillo added. The investigation is ongoing. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
