New Hanover County Sheriff Deputies have arrested two men for kidnapping. On Sunday July 29, at approximately 8:30 am Deputies responded to 4506 Coddington Loop Rd Apt. 101 for an assault call. When deputies arrived on scene they found Christian Holshouser with blood on him and cuffed behind his back with flex cuffs. He stated that his ex-girlfriend’s relatives had come to move her out of the apartment. Mr. Holshouser informed them that it was not a good time and they would have to move her belongings out on another day. After an argument started between the victim and the relatives, Mr. Holshouser went into the kitchen where James Emil Lionelle and Christopher Paul French began assaulting him by pushing, and holding him from behind his neck. Mr. Lionell and Mr. French flex cuffed him and drug him outside where Mr. Holshouser broke free and ran up the stairs. Mr. Lionell followed him until a neighbor came out and stated she was calling 911. Deputies arrived on scene and arrested both James Emil Lionelle and Christopher Paul French for 2nd Degree Kidnapping and Assault and Battery. Both have posted bond and are awaiting trial.
