WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH – New Hanover County Sheriff Ed McMahon is hosting the North Carolina Sheriff’s Association Spring Conference. The three day conference, which begins Monday at the Holiday Inn Resort in Wrightsville Beach, will focus on training. The conferences, held twice a year, assist county law enforcement agencies with common problems as they serve the citizens of their communities.
The event includes overviews of any laws passed recently in the state legislature, leadership and strategic planning sessions and other topics of interest to the Sheriffs.
The North Carolina Sheriff’s Association works on many levels to improve the lives of citizens across the state. The association recently awarded UNC-Wilmington Junior, Tiara Maynard, a $1,000 criminal justice scholarship.
