NEW HANOVER – Detectives with the New Hanover County Vice and Narcotics Division executed an early-morning search warrant Wednesday at 4858 Kubeck Court, in Wilmington, which resulted in the arrest of two Wilmington men.
During the raid of what is known as a “heroin and crack den”, Detectives seized 56 bags of heroin, which has a street value of $1600, 18 grams of crack cocaine, which has a street value of $1800, and 41 grams of marijuana. Also seized during the search included a digital scale, plastic baggies, hypodermic needles and pipes.
Anthony Julius Scroggins, 41 of Wilmington, and Jessica Deborah Warren, 26 of Wilmington, were both arrested and charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver heroin, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for drugs, possess schedule VI and possession of drug paraphernalia. Scoggins was also served with an outstanding warrant for failing to appear in court, on un-related charges.
Scroggins and Warren are both being held in the New Hanover County Detention Facility under their respective secured bonds, listed below.
During this incident, Joseph Michael Schmidt, 45 of Leland, was cited and released for the possession drug paraphernalia.
“The suspects were using the apartment to sell and use heroin and crack cocaine. It was a large drug-den”, said Captain David Ciamillo.
