NEW HANOVER – A traffic stop on Saturday, initiated by Detectives with the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office Vice & Narcotic Unit, led to the arrest of a Pender County resident. Joey Wayne Turner, 29 of Rocky Point, was charged with numerous narcotic violations after he was found to be in possession of 56 grams of cocaine that carries a street value of over $5,700. The traffic stop occurred on Martin Luther King Parkway near the Castle Hayne exit.
Turner was arrested and charged with trafficking cocaine, possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver cocaine, maintaining a dwelling or vehicle for drugs, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released from the New Hanover County Detention Facility after posting a $25,000 secured bond.
