– Edward Wales Flagler, 68 of Wilmington, turned himself in at the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office earlier this afternoon. Flagler was released on a $20,000 unsecured bond after being served with felony warrants for 1st Degree Arson and Misc Burning. Mr. Flager is scheduled to appear in court on February, 1, 2010 at 9:00 a.m.
Through their investigation which began on January 18th, Detectives determined that Mr. Flagler set the house on fire while it was occupied by his wife, Diane Flager, and their two grandchildren. Mr. Flagler was transported to New Hanover Regional Medical Center due to smoke inhalation.
