CAROLINA BEACH – At the request of the Carolina Beach Police Advisory Board, Detective Sandi Macon addressed the board and concerned citizens regarding the North Carolina Sex Offender Registry. During this meeting Detective Macon explained that the information found on the registry is open to the public and accessible on the internet. A public search of the registry was demonstrated for the Carolina Beach area which returned results of 8 registered offenders within a one-mile radius of the Carolina Beach Police Department.
