NEW HANOVER – The annual United Way City vs. County Golf Tournament took place on Saturday at the Wilmington Municipal Golf Course.
Leading the county’s team was County Manager Bruce Shell, Commissioner Jonathan Barfield, and Commissioner Jason Thompson. Also representing New Hanover County included over a dozen employees from the Sheriff’s Office. Other county departments participating were DSS, IT, Enviromental Management, Inspections, Legal, Tax, Property Management, Risk Management, and the Library.
Taking fourth place was a Sheriff’s Office team comprised of Chief Deputy Rhonda Smith, Sergeant Butch Morgan (Retired), Detective Pat Cullifer and Major Lise Ruefle.
Congratulations to all players and New Hanover County for winning the tournament. Monies raised with benefit the United Way.
