NEW HANOVER – Deputies responded to a reported robbery at the North Kerr Mini Mart, located at 1722 N. Kerr Avenue this morning just before 8:00 a.m. The employee reported a male entered the business, brandished a weapon (axe), demanded money, and left with an undisclosed amount of cash. The employee provided a vehicle description and direction of travel which assisted Sheriff’s Deputies in locating the vehicle in the area of Market St. at 16th St. While observing the vehicle Deputies witnessed a male matching the suspect description exiting a nearby methadone clinic. Deputies approached and identified Klinton Nicholas Gailie, 29 of Wilmington, who was in possession of the weapon and cash. Mr. Gailie, charged with Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, remains in custody at the New Hanover County Detention Facility under at $100,000 secured bond.
