NEW HANOVER – Deputies arrested a 33-year old Wilmington man for a larceny that occurred while court was in session. Two victims told Deputies they noticed their purses had been tampered with after appearing before the judge. The victims witnessed a male acting suspiciously and leaving the courtroom as they returned to their seat. When confronted by the victim the male dropped the wallet and fled the courthouse.
Deputies were alerted to the incident and located the suspect, William Vernon Mustian II, 33 of Wilmington, a short time later. Mr. Mustian, charged with two counts of larceny and financial transaction card theft, remains in the New Hanover County Detention Facility under a $22,500 secured bond.
