Fugitive Wanted in Connection with 2007 Homicide

NEW HANOVER – Earlier today Sheriff Ed McMahon held a media conference praising the work of Detectives from the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office, Pender County Sheriff’s Office, Onslow County Sheriff’s Office, Burgaw Police Department and the Jacksonville Police Department. “Detectives working together has led to the arrest of three very dangerous criminals”, said McMahon.

Matasich, Owens and Jones appeared in New Hanover County District court earlier this morning. They are all being held without bond for their involvement in the murder of Geoffrey Graham that occurred on the evening of August 16, 2007.

The fourth suspect, Adam Elijah Ward, 22 year old of Hampstead, is wanted for first degree murder, felony conspiracy to commit armed robbery, attempted armed robbery and first degree kidnapping. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Adam Ward is asked to call Detectives at (910) 798-4260.
