Middle Sound Loop Road - Red Cedar Road to Market Street Publix

- Funded by a Surface Transportation Block Grant through the Wilmington Urban Area Metropolitan Organization (WMPO)
- Design complete. Right of way purchase underway

Market Street- Mendenhall Drive to Porters Neck Walmart

Middle Sound Greenway Trail - Red Cedar to Middle Sound Village
The Middle Sound trail consists of on-road bicycle lanes on Red Cedar Road, an eight-foot wide paved off-road multi-use path along Middle Sound Loop Road from Red Cedar to Middle Sound Village, on-road path along Oyster and Bright Leaf Road, and a pedestrian path to Thais Trail. The 1.3-mile trail connects to the Cross City Trail by way of existing bike lanes along Covil Farm Road to Military Cutoff Road. There is also a new sidewalk from Ogden Elementary School to Kenmore Drive.
Ogden Park Connector - Market Street to Ogden Park
NHC is partnering with NCDOT to extend the Middle Sound Loop trail from Market Street along Lendire Road and Ogden Business Lane to Ogden Park. This is part of the NCDOT Military Cutoff Extension project. Connection to the park is located at the overpass.
