Gang Members Arrested for Heroin

In November 2013, the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office Vice/Narcotics Unit in partnership with the Wilmington Police Department and FBI Safe Streets Task Force began an investigation into the trafficking of heroin by local Blood Gang Members throughout the Wilmington area. This investigation focused on validated Blood Gang Members and their associates receiving large quantities of heroin from other states and later transporting, manufacturing and distributing this heroin in the Creekwood Housing Community and adjacent neighborhoods.  

 

     Throughout this investigation, hundreds of man hours were dedicated to surveillance and the interviewing of individuals with direct knowledge of the intricacies of this heroin organization. This particular heroin organization was delivered a substantial blow on Tuesday February 18, 2014, with the arrest of six individuals and a subsequent search warrant executed at 314 North 30th Street. There were approximately 2,600 wax bindles of heroin, a small amount of cocaine and several thousand dollars recovered as a result of these arrests. The seven individuals arrested were transported to the New Hanover County Detention Facility and charged with the following offenses.

 

     Jermaine Rogers, a 35 year old black male, was arrested for Trafficking Heroin by Possession, Trafficking Heroin by Transportation, Trafficking Heroin by Sale, Trafficking Heroin by Delivery, Possession with Intent to Sell/Deliver Heroin, Maintaining a Dwelling/Vehicle and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Jermaine Rogers received a $50,000.00 secured bond.

 

     Kwintell McLucas, a 22 year old black male, was arrested for Trafficking Heroin by Possession (2 Counts), Trafficking Heroin by Transportation, Trafficking Heroin by Sale, Trafficking Heroin by Delivery, Conspiracy to Traffic Heroin, Possession with Intent to Sell/Deliver Heroin (2 Counts), Maintaining a Dwelling/Vehicle and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (2 Counts). Kwintell McLucas received a $1,000,000.00 secured bond.

 

     Desmond Hines, a 25 year old black male, was arrested for Trafficking Heroin by Possession, Trafficking Heroin by Transportation, Trafficking Heroin by Sale, Trafficking Heroin by Delivery, Conspiracy to Traffic Heroin, Possession with Intent to Sell/Deliver Heroin and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Desmond Hines received a $1,000,000.00 secured bond.

 

     Keyshaun Flowers, a 21 year old black male, was arrested for Trafficking Heroin by Possession, Trafficking Heroin by Transportation, Trafficking Heroin by Sale, Trafficking Heroin by Delivery, Conspiracy to Traffic Heroin, Possession with Intent to Sell/Deliver Heroin and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Keyshaun Flowers received a $1,000,000.00 secured bond.

 

     Rakeem Wilson, a 25 black male, was arrested for Trafficking Heroin by Possession, Trafficking Heroin by Transportation, Trafficking Heroin by Sale, Trafficking Heroin by Delivery, Conspiracy to Traffic Heroin, Possession with Intent to Sell/Deliver Heroin and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Rakeem Wilson received a $1,000,000.00 secured bond.

 

     Darren Zanders Sr. was arrested for Possession with Intent to Sell/Deliver Cocaine, Manufacture Cocaine, Maintaining a Dwelling/Vehicle and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Darren Zanders Sr. received a $2,000.00 secured bond.

 

  Jermaine Rogers and Darren Zanders Sr. have posted bond and are out of the New Hanover County Detention Facility.

 

 

In an unrelated investigation, Abdul Ramont McKoy was arrested February 19, 2014 on trafficking heroin charges.  A search warrant was conducted 115 South 9th St apt A where 120 bags of heroin was recovered. McKoy was charged with 7 felony drug charges.

 

Abdul Ramont McKoy, a 35 year old black male was arrested for trafficking heroin, PWIMSD schedule I, maintain vehicle/dwelling for drugs-felony, PWIMSD marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana greater than ½ ounce, possession schedule IV controlled substance, he received a $500,000.00 secure bond.
