NEW HANOVER – Law Enforcement took on the local media in a charity volleyball game Saturday. The first ever Law Enforcement vs. Media Volleyball tournament consisted of teams representing local law enforcement and local media partners. All volunteer teams participated to support the Yahweh Center Children’s Village.
Law Enforcement teams included the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office, Wilmington Police Department, Pender County Sheriff’s Office and a local group of US Marines. Representing local media were WECT, WWAY, News 14 Carolina and the Star News.
Although all teams played hard, the playoff match between Sea-Comm Media and the Wilmington Police Department was won by Sea-Comm Media.
The Yahweh Center helps at-risk kids who have often been abused or neglected.
