Three Arrested for Trafficking Narcotics

NEW HANOVER – On Friday, February 12, 2010 Detectives with the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office Vice & Narcotic Unit arrested three men and charged them with numerous counts of drug trafficking.  The joint investigation between the Sheriff’s Office and the US Postal Inspection Service ended with the seizure of 3 ounces of cocaine and 12 pounds of marijuana.  The cocaine carries a street value of $8,400 while the marijuana is valued at $26,000.

Eric Martin Arroyo-Hernandez, 24 of Wilmington, was charged with two counts of trafficking in marijuana, two counts of possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, two counts of possession of marijuana, maintaining a dwelling or vehicle for drugs, possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, two counts of trafficking cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of cocaine, and possession of a false or fraudulent identification.

Enrique Arroyo-Hernandez, 20 of Wilmington, was charged with two counts of trafficking in marijuana, two counts of possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, two counts of trafficking cocaine, two counts of possession of marijuana, possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, maintaining a dwelling or vehicle for drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Miguel Ruiz Almanza, 24 of Wilmington, was charged with two counts of trafficking in marijuana, two counts of possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, two counts of trafficking cocaine, two counts of possession of marijuana, possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, maintaining a dwelling or vehicle for drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.

All three of the men are being held in the New Hanover County Detention Facility under a $100,000 each.
