Narcotic Investigation, Foot Chase Nets 93 Bags of Heroin

WILMINGTON – An undercover investigation led Detectives with the Sheriff’s Vice and Narcotics Division on a brief foot chase Thursday afternoon.  The chase, which occurred at Independence Mall, ended with the arrest of two Wilmington men and the seizure of 93 bags of heroin, valued at $3500, and $1,966 in cash.

Carnell Randall White (left), 21, of Wilmington who is currently on intensive probation and was wearing an ankle bracelet was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver, conspiracy drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, and resisting a public officer. White remains in custody at the New Hanover County Detention Facility under a $250,000 secured bond.  The reason and terms of his probation was unknown at time of this release.

Kenneth Dawoo Harris (right), 22, of Wilmington was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver, conspiracy drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, and selling Schedule 1 narcotics.  Harris remains in custody at the New Hanover County Detention Facility under a $150,000 secured bond.

“This arrest and seizure is a product of our continued efforts to reduce the availability of heroin and other dangerous narcotics.  This is 93 bags of heroin that won’t be hitting our streets”, said Captain David Ciamillo.
