Citizen Complaint Leads to the Arrest of Two for Trafficking Cocaine

CASTLE HAYNE – Upon receiving a complaint, Detectives with the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office Vice & Narcotic Division, conducted a three week investigation within the Deerfield Subdivision.  The investigation led to the arrest of two men for multiple drug violations, to include trafficking in cocaine.

On Thursday evening, upon the execution of a search warrant at 209 Deerfield Road, Detectives arrested Jaramillo Demetrio Dominguez, 27, of Leland and Ralph Stanley Callahan, 76, of Wilmington.  Both men were found to be in possession of more than four ounces of cocaine, which has a street value of $11,000.  Dominguez, charged with two counts of trafficking cocaine and possession with intent to sell, manufacture and deliver, is being held under a $100,000 secured bond.  Callahan was charged with possession of marijuana, possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, and maintaining dwelling or vehicle for drugs, was released from the New Hanover County Detention Facility after posting a $5,000 secured bond.

Sheriff McMahon commends the involvement of the community to end illegal narcotic activity, which prompted the investigation, “I’m delighted a citizen came forward with their concern for this type of activity occurring in their neighborhood.  We’ll respond to any complaint in an effort to stop drug activity in our communities”, said McMahon.
