Three Arrested in Overnight Breaking & Entering

NEW HANOVER – At approximately 12:20 a.m., Deputies responded to to 638 Indian Wells after a breaking and entering to a motor vehicle was reported to the New Hanover County 911 Center. The victim told telecommunicators that he went to check on a noise in front of his residence and discovered a white male inside his roommate’s vehicle. The victim approached the suspect who then pulled a knife and communicated threats to the victim. The suspect left the area as the victim provided information to the telecommunicators. As deputies were responding they located a vehicle that appeared to have been left there due to mechanical issues. As they were investigation this vehicle another vehicle pulled up and was occupied with six individuals, one matching the suspect description. As the investigation continued, Detectives confirmed the involvement of three of the six subjects.

William Edgar Simmons (picutred left), 21-year old of Wilmington, and Stephen Clegg Ridley (pictured right), 37-year old of Leland, was charged with two counts of felony conspiracy and two counts of misdemeanor larceny. Both Simmons and Ridley were transported to the New Hanover County Detention Facility where they both received a $25,000 secured bond.

Keith Allen Simmons, 25-year old of Leland, was charged with Robbery with a dangerous weapon, two counts of felony conspiracy and two counts of misdemeanor larceny. Simmons was also transported to the New Hanover County Detention Facility where he received a $50,000 secured bond.
