Narcotic Investigation Nets 57 Bags of Heroin

NEW HANOVER – Detectives with the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Vice and Narcotics Division recently concluded a two-week investigation that led the arrest of Demetrious Antonio Wright, 33 of Wilmington. Wright, in possession of 57 bags of heroin stamped with “million dollar baby”, was arrested Thursday afternoon at 1650 Shipyard Blvd. The heroin carries a street value of $2,200.

The investigation revealed Wright was distributing a substantial amount of heroin in New Hanover County. “Not only was he selling a significant amount of heroin, he was also state wanted for parole violations since October 2008. He has made every attempt to evade law enforcement, but wasn’t so lucky today”, said Captain D.A. Ciamillo of the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office Vice and Narcotic Division.

Antonio Demetrius Wright was charged with possession with the intent to sell and deliver heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia, maintaining a vehicle for drugs and parole violation. Wright is being held in the New Hanover County Detention Facility under a $50,000 secured bond.
